Digital Download: Basics of DJ'ing from A to Z

If you love the comfort of your home and your own flexible schedule, you can learn DJ'ing basics online before you even commit to one-on-one lessons. Easy to understand, and follow, Basics of DJ'ing from A to Z is a 60 min online powerpoint voice/slides presentation($16 digital download) that you can view it anytime, on your pc/mac/ipad/iphone for 30 days. This is a valuable resource of information presented at your fingertips and covers wide range of DJ'ing topics. Upon completion there is an optional quiz to test your knowledge.

Introduction to DJ'ing: Where it all Begins

You are taking a big step in realizing your dj dream hobby or career. Take One hour private lesson at instructors studio ($75 only), to get a feel for it and determine your goals, and expectations. Your instructor will greet you at his home studio and answer all your questions and proceed with several hands on exercises ranging from equipment overview and set up, to actual beat mixing. Level 1 - Journey begins

Three comprehensive one-on-one lessons will get you up to speed that normally would take months to develop on your own.You will learn about Equipment & mixer functions, CDJs/Computer and/or Serato. Lessons will get even more technical wit:h Fade Mixing, basic transitions using the volume fader. Cueing techniques/Setting a cue point on Pioneer CDJ. Counting beats and bars, 'Drop Mixing'. How to manually detect BPM/Tempo.
Understand the structure of dance music / Beats, Bars and Phrasing. Beat matching different tracks with instructor's help. You will be surprised with how much you will learn in 3 lessons. Total 5 hrs.

Level 2 - Prepare for a Lift Off

At level 2 we will get down to some serious business: Using EQ controls for subtle blends. Understanding different dance music genres. Cross-fader technique – using the cross fader to chop up beats/vocals. How to synchronise tracks using BPM counters Creating/ Adjusting loops using CDJs. Beat Matching with quantized loop. Creating/triggering Hot Cue points on CDJ 1000s/2000s Learn how to use any CDJ to create a hot cue for repeated triggering. Using loops to create build up effects to hype the crowd. Creating a Delay effect with two identical track. Record your own demo mix. Total 5 hrs of instruction.

Level 3- Final Flight

Plan and perform a DJ set using the latest dj equipment. Get expert advice/tips from a pro DJ. Upload your dj mix online. Test your skills in live club environment. Try out everything you have learnt. Back to back mixing with other DJs. One final live performance in a real club. Learn how to read the crowd and improvise. Price $399.
